e drive
we have a dimension 1100 and the e drive will say can not read insert disc, and there will be a disc in there. we have tried to just insert a music cd just to simply play, will not play.

Hi MM,
Lets run a couple of the standard steps. Please click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 15, article 1; Section 20, article 3. These will cover the drivers and controller.
If the above does not help, same CD/RW link, Section 6-5, article 11, Auto play Repair Wizard.
If we are still batting a big fat zero, may I ask what is the name/model of the drive in question?
